What we do

How we’re tackling barriers to work and creating inclusive workplaces

Harnessing the power of the people profession

The CIPD Trust supports those who face greater challenges in the workplace. We do it by harnessing the expertise and enthusiasm of our community of people professionals – experts in recruitment, mentoring, development and people strategy.

Many of our programmes help people get into work and return to work. Others encourage people from all backgrounds to develop in the people profession.

We’re expanding our programmes to help those who face the biggest barriers to good, fair, and inclusive work, especially:

  • people with refugee status
  • people with experience of the criminal justice system
  • parents returning to work
  • older people returning to work
  • young job seekers

“I genuinely couldn't be more thrilled. I have a job I love in a sector I would never have looked at. I'm so much happier. This has changed my life.”

– Kirsty, parent returner
