CIPD Trust Champions
We are building a strong community of employers, charities and HR professionals who improve access to work. CIPD Trust champions represent the CIPD Trust on a local level by helping us to connect with networks in their local community. They share updates, make connections and support Trust activities within their CIPD branch. This volunteer role is an opportunity for enthusiastic CIPD members to use their skills in influencing and networking to make a difference.
A flexible role for any level of the people profession
We’re looking for CIPD members who are enthusiastic about helping people get into work and creating fair workplaces. We are looking for people at all levels of the profession. You might be a student member looking to build your experience or a Chartered Fellow who can confidently convene a local network. What matters most is your interest in fair workplaces and working together to remove the barriers experienced by refugees, people with convictions and anyone who is struggling to find work.
Making a local impact
CIPD Trust Champions work with the Trust to expand our work on a local level and amplify the social impact we can have together. By engaging fellow members in our work you can help us to secure new volunteers for our programmes, bring attention to our guidance and make connections with local organisations for mentoring referrals.
Activities that a Trust Champion might do:
- Share Trust updates and promote volunteering with Trust to branch members
- Promote opportunities for members to receive mentoring through the Trust
- Convene local networking events for people who are engaged with the Trust or want to learn more
- Support the Student Lead to engage local study centres with the CIPD Trust bursary scheme
- Convene networks of local employers around inclusive practice for the groups that the Trust supports (people with convictions, refugees or career returners)
- Make connections with local referral partners for the Trust (e.g. job centres, CFO Hubs, local refugee charities, local authorities, local prisons)
- Attend events to promote Trust mentoring to potential mentees (e.g. job fairs)
- Support the Trust with programmes that they are running locally
